Padme
Sofía
SofíaI was born on 28 August 2006, at 8:51pm, at the Angeles Pedregal Hospital in Mexico City. At that time, I weighed 6.1 lb (2.78Kg) and measured 19.7 inches (50cm) long.
Why is my name Padme Sofía? My parents say it represents their wish for unity and harmony between Western and Eastern thought. They wanted to remind me why they met in Dharamshala. In the Tibetan language, Padme means "lotus flower". The lotus grows out of the muddy bottoms of lakes, searching for enlightenment, until it becomes a flower. In Tibetan Buddhism, it symbolizes that every imperfect person is capable of becoming a beautiful being full of compassion, wisdom, and detachment from material needs. The name Sofía comes from the Greek, signifies wisdom, and to my parents celebrates the Western civilization we have inherited.
We want to share our joy with you!
